The Man Who Built His House on a Rock

Muriwai, one of New Zealand's best known black sand beaches, is not only stunning beyond measure because of it volcanic sands but also its ferocious waves. Ever heard of the man who built his house on a rock, because it was the strongest foundation for a house. The sheer power of New Zealand's west coast smashes onto the rocks, eroding passageways within the very bed of the rock.

Devastation

Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia is almost 20,000 square kilometres. Controlled burnings are carried out by elder's and fire marshal's to ensure in the event of a forest fire it would not wipe out vast areas of the reserve. The intensity of the raging inferno is intensified by the use of black and white. The contrast highlights the tremendous power of fire and the devastation it inflicts.
